📜 The Story

Hashem spoke to Moshe and told him to ask the Children of Israel to bring a donation for a very special project. Anyone whose heart moved them could give gold, silver, copper, colorful wool, animal skins, acacia wood, oil, and precious stones. Everyone was excited to help build a home for Hashem.

Hashem commanded that a Mishkan, a holy and beautiful tent, be built so His presence could dwell among the people. The famous verse says, 'And they shall make Me a sanctuary, and I will dwell among them.' This taught everyone that Hashem does not need a huge building, He wants to be close to the heart of every Jew.

Moshe received exact instructions for building the Aron, the holy Ark that held the Tablets of the Covenant. The Ark was covered in gold inside and out, and on top sat two golden Keruvim, angel-like figures with wings spread out, facing each other. From above the Ark, Hashem would speak to Moshe.

Besides the Ark, the Mishkan included a special table with the Showbread, a pure gold Menorah with seven branches that gave light, and the Mishkan structure itself with colorful curtains and wooden beams. Every detail was planned exactly as Hashem showed Moshe.

This parsha teaches us how important it is to give happily and willingly, and that everyone can contribute something, big or small, to build a home for Hashem. It also teaches that Hashem truly wants to dwell in the heart of every one of us.
